FEATURED SERMON

by The Rev. Kurt Hein — August 31, 2025

In Luke 14, Jesus teaches us the absolute importance of humility.

OUR CONGREGATION

What To Expect

When you visit Light of Christ, you’ll experience beautiful, liturgical, Christ-centered worship.

Black musical notes and sparkle icons

MUSIC

We believe church music should be filled with the truth of the Gospel and invoke reverence and joy in worship. We sing all beautiful, true, and good music, whether ancient or modern.

WORD

We believe Holy Scripture is central to worship. As St. Jerome said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” When we gather we hear the Scripture read and preached.

SACRAMENT

We believe that Christ is truly present with us through the sacrament of Holy Communion and we celebrate this tremendous gift every Sunday.

FAMILY

While providing optional nursery for infants, we invite everyone, children, elderly, single, and married to worship together as members of God’s family. Everyone is welcome.

WORSHIP WITH US

Special Services and Events

Following the Christian Calendar enables us to mark our time by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through this yearly rhythm of meeting together, we set time apart for God.

  • People participating in a candlelight procession inside a building, with some wearing white robes and others holding lit candles in paper holders, and a person with a cross walking at the front.

    Easter Vigil

On the eve of Easter Sunday, we gather by candlelight to hear the prophecies of Christ throughout the Old Testament and celebrate their fulfillment in the resurrection of Jesus.

  • People seated in a darkened room holding lit candles during a ceremony or vigil, with a few standing and a few reading from books.

    Christmas Lessons and Carols

Experience the beauty of Christmas through hearing Scripture lessons and singing carols by candlelight.

  • A baptism ceremony taking place in a lake with a man in a purple shirt and blue shorts baptizing three children, while another man in a gray shirt and red shorts stands nearby. One young girl is in black swimwear with colorful stripes, and two girls are in blue swimsuits.

    Baptisms

In the Great Commission Jesus commands us to go and make disciples through baptizing and teaching. In baptism, the Holy Spirit joins us to Christ’s death and resurrection and we become his children by grace.

  • Yearly Spiritual Retreat

Every year we gather in retreat in Marble Falls to fellowship, pray the Daily Office, and deepen our faith.

GET INVOLVED

Blessed to be a Blessing

We all have our part in Christ’s body to use our gifts to serve one another. It’s in this loving service that we begin to discover who Christ made us to be.

“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering.”

— HEBREWS 12:22
